News Roundup, February 2017

School’s back, things are back to normal, and there’s lots of news to catch up with. Fairy Dancers fans will be excited to hear that Cheryl Orsini has delivered the completed artwork for our second set of stories about Mia, Emma and Grace (and Coco, of course), ahead of the publication of Fairy Dancers: Dancing Days by ABC Books later this year. I’ve been very busy over the past few weeks with an exciting collaborative project that I have been working on with my long-term agent Margaret Connolly, and I am looking forward to sharing news of this in due course. And I am also close to finishing another book (again, to be illustrated by Cheryl), this one with a slightly more mysterious and adventurous tone. Think tigers, lighthouses and magicians. More information to come, so watch this space.

The big news for February, of course, is the long-awaited publication of Lucy’s Book. The book’s out on 28th February.  I’ll be publishing information about the launch in the new few days, as well as details of some upcoming public appearances. One I will mention now, as it is not that far away: on 17th February, I will be attending  Romancing the Stars at All Saints Anglican School at the Gold Coast, along with many other well-known children’s authors and illustrators. These events, run by Book Links (Qld) are great fun, and a good way to catch up with authors. I’ll jog your memories about this a bit closer to the day, but in the meantime, be sure and add 17th February to your calendars.
